Spotlight 5/21/19 Cody Brockway

Buffalo Paintball Spotlight

It’s time once again to recognize the amazing players of the paintball community. Every two weeks, we seek out a variety of players to hear their take on paintball and what they’ve experienced in the sport thus far. Let’s get right to it and see what this week has in store:

Today’s spotlight is focused on Cody Brockway, from Schuylerville, NY who started playing paintball when he was nine years old. He plays at his local field, Capital Combat Zone, but has traveled to other fields and experienced a variety of gameplay. He’s played at fields such as Skirmish, West Point and Check Six and is on two different teams. One team is specifically for woodsball scenario games, and the other team is based around speedball that plays in Ops League in Connecticut. When asked what his preferred paintball marker was, he had no hesitation in saying it was his Planet Eclipse CS2, with a Spire3 hopper.

It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of paintball and everyone has their own memories and experience on what it was like for them: “There are a lot of memories to pick from but I think my best memory would be playing at the West Point combat classic running through a thick cloud of smoke with paintballs flying everywhere, flipping a flag and getting back to my gear without any shots on me (have it on GoPro)”. Paintball players travel some pretty far distances and Cody is no exception. He’s traveled as far as Skirmish for the Battle of Britain  which is a little more than just a stone throw away for most. Being a dedicated player, going to games all year round and enjoying both styles of paintball, Cody is one of the many great supporters of the sport.

Before we wrap things up, we asked Cody what kinds of recommendations he might have for new players to the sport: “Don’t be afraid to approach other players and ask for help or tips; the paintball community is great at helping each other out whether you’re a new player or have been playing for 30 years”.

That concludes this week’s edition of Spotlight, featuring Cody Brockway. Thanks to everyone for reading and we hope you’ll join us for the next Spotlight.
